Activision finally confirmed its new Deadpool game at a Comic-Con 2012 panel today.

The project is a new shooter made by High Moon Studios. It seems to be set in a third-person perspective, features voice work from Nolan North (Uncharted series), and will be out next year.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t said which platforms the title is in development for. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 are surely a lock, though.

A trailer was shown at the panel – we should have that for you soon.

Hm, as much a fan as I am of Deadpool, I’m not really that excited about this. It will have to have much more than hacking, slashing, shooting and wise-cracking to be a great game.

I have a strong feeling that this game will fall into the same division as Wet, which I did actually enjoy, but not something I would go out and spend more than £10 on, or expect to play for endless hours. That sort of thing gets really monotomous and boring.

For this Deadpool game to work they would have to come up with something really engaging to make it work, and half of me is thinking we won’t be getting that.
