THQ will lift the Darksiders II embargo for online publications on Tuesday. However, a few print outlets have already published their reviews.

We found out about Consol Plus’  verdict a few days ago. Since then, reviews from GamePro Germany, X360 Magazine UK, and Play Magazine have come in.

GamePro Germany handed out a 93% score. The magazine made note of the following:

+ Has fantastic art design
+ Nice animations, soundtrack
+ Dark dungeons
+ Voice acting praised
+ Coherent sound effects
+ Intuitive combat system
+ Great amount of content
+ Exciting boss battles
+ Skill system praised
+ Varied climbing passages
+ Many dungeons with difficult puzzles
+ Enthralling story
+ Cool characters
+ Very motivating
+ Crucible mode
- Some washy textures, screen-tearing
- A few camera problems

GamePro Germany says that Darksiders II will take players approximately 20 hours to complete the story. You can add on another 30 if you plan on completing all sidequests.

The magazine wrapped with:

“War was good, Death is better. Darksiders 2 is a huge and stunning action-adventure and it is extremely addictive.”

Those who have received the latest issue of Play (UK) magazine say that an 86% score was handed out. A small write-up from the review reads:

“While it’s not a huge step up from the original, a break of two and a half years and a bit of polish makes Darksiders II easy to recommend. It has issues, but there’s a hell of a lot of game for those who want it.”

Finally, a fourth review comes from X360 Magazine UK. Along with the 90% score, the publication proclaimed:

“Vast, sprawling, beautiful and infinitely playable, Darksiders II is the biggest and best surprise of 2012. So far. It will fill all the time between now and other big hitters.”

You can grab Darksiders II from retailers starting on Tuesday. Once again, the official review embargo is expected to end on this date as well.

The washed out textures and tearing mostly happens on the PS3 version making it the inferior version again.

That’s strange considering that the original Darksiders performed better on the PS3…so not “again”.

the xbox 360 version of this game comes with about 2 hours of side quests removed and also some weapons removed.

What the F are you talking about? That’s BS!
And it’s true, the 360 version is better this time around. I have seen them both performing today in the store and the PS3 is definitely more sluggish and a little more washed out.
Strange how this turned around since the first one.

that’s not true, i have the magazine and they say both versions have tearing but the 360 version has worse tearing.

I hear that the 360 version comes with scarlet fever and it gives you aids if you play it. Seriously guys, just enjoy this awesome game when it comes out regardless of what crappy platform it comes out on.
