MLB 2K13 has been announced by 2K Sports today, and it’s coming out pretty soon. The next entry in the series is due out on March 5 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price will grace the title’s cover.
What may be most interesting about all of this is the fact that MLB 2K13 is actually happening. Last year, there had been rumors that Take-Two wouldn’t renew its licence with MLB. But 2K Sports has indeed reached an agreement with Major League Baseball, the Major League Baseball Players Association, and Major League Baseball Advanced Media to release its game.
2K Sports vice president of marketing Jason Argent said:
“We’d like to thank our league partners for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K. We know fans are extremely passionate about the MLB 2K series and the Perfect Game Challenge.”
So, the Xbox 360 will have a baseball game this year. But unlike last year’s release, 2K doesn’t appear to be developing versions for the PC, Wii, DS, PSP, or PS2.
